Supporting Sustainability of Accelerated Learning
Free Workshops for Ohio District and School Leaders

Effectively align and use all your resources—time, money, people, political capital, and partnerships—to accelerate learning and improve student performance. Project Evident, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce and OESCA, have developed workshops to help Ohio school districts develop plans for strategic resource allocation. Strategic resource allocation (or strategic budgeting) is the process of applying resources—money, time, people, political capital, and partnerships—in the best way possible to achieve your district’s goal of improving student outcomes.

Regional and statewide FREE workshops will support Ohio districts and schools in identifying and using evidence to make trade-off decisions and better utilize resources. The workshops will include a mix of presentations, facilitated team work sessions, breakout sessions with regional and national experts, and opportunities for peer learning and networking.

Who Should Attend?
We invite district leaders from across the state to come together at our regional workshops and statewide convening to learn and connect. All workshops are FREE. Districts benefit most from these workshops if they attend as teams (3-5 members). At minimum, we recommend that your team include members that have:

  1. Systems level decision-making authority (e.g., Superintendent or Deputy Superintendent)
  2. Robust knowledge of academics and interventions (e.g., Chief Academic Officer
  3. A strong understanding of district budget and funding streams (e.g., Chief Financial Officer, Federal Programs Director)

How Do Workshops Benefit Districts?

“[This work provides a] relevant way of mapping-out how to articulate ROI of initiatives and to separate what we feel is working with what we know is working.” – Superintendent, NY

“This training is the spine and backbone for transparent, coherent, data/evidence-based decision making, and student-centered systems planning.” – Director, Office of School Support and Well-being, MD

“This was an excellent first step in learning about concrete budget planning related to academics—great structure to get specific about the intersection between budget development and academics.” – Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, NY

“This work will grow your capacity to lead and make the work impactful.” – Chief Academic Officer, OH

“[Project Evident is] a wealth of information, support, and passion for the process of strategic planning and budgeting.” – Director of State and Federal Programs, OH

While the core content will be the same across all regional workshops, breakout sessions will vary [Regional Workshop Flyer]. Participants will learn how to:

  1. Use public and internal data to identify and prioritize needs.
  2. Articulate tangible guiding values to guide decisions in policy, practice, and budgeting.
  3. Use evidence to inform trade-offs decisions.
  4. Identify and leverage best practices in key focus areas.
